GENERAL CONDITIONS
The Blue Line shipping company carries passengers, their luggage and vehicles according to what is stated in the in force regulations that the passenger must know. Rules which are not specified in the “General Conditions” will be applied in compliance with the international agreements and, basing on them, will be ascertained the company responsibility.
• TIMETABLES
The company is not responsible for any change due to a third party, port authority or extreme or untypical weather conditions. The timetables may be subject to unexpected changes. The company reserves the right to raise prices without notice due to increases in fuel, currency floating or other unforeseen circumstances.
• EMBARKATION
The scheduled boarding timetable is subject to variations from Blue Line without notice. Changes may be due to circumstances beyond our control, technical reasons or any other cause. In case of timetable changes or impossibility to assure the passengers an alternative transport, the company reserves the right to fully refund the ticket without any responsibility or duty towards the passenger. The passenger must check the timetable and book the journey prior to departure in one of the port agencies. Booking in advance does not mean that the passenger can get directly on the ship, but he/she has to go to the agency check-in office in order to collect the boarding card considering the Blue Line recommended times. If passengers do not comply with the boarding rules, the company may cancel the reservation. All passengers must have a valid passport o any other relevant document, the visa and, if necessary, the international health certificate. Not having the necessary and valid travel documents may cause the passenger a sanction and the prohibition to board the ship. It is forbidden to take any kind of weapon on board. If ascertained, when boarding or during the journey, that a passenger carries weapons or is under particular conditions (illness, drunkenness or other reasons) that may be dangerous for others, the ship’s master will adopt the appropriate measures stated by the law.
• OPEN-DATE TICKETS
The open-date ticket is valid 12 months from the issue date, without refund right. Passengers must book well in advance their return journey and, if necessary, pay the supplement due to the valid price on the day of departure. Should the opposite occur, the company cannot guarantee neither the reservation nor the transport in the planned journey date. The price difference is not refundable if the current rate is lower than that paid when booked, if a lower accomodation category is available or if make a partial use of any service paid entirely in advance.
• TICKET LOSS
The passenger must immediately report the loss of the travel ticket to the nearest port agency or the agency that made the reservation. The ticket can be issued if proved that the passenger has previously bought it. Should the opposite occur, the passenger must purchase a new ticket.
• CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
The complete or partial journey cancellation must be done before departure. The unused return ticket cannot be refunded but can be turned into an open-date ticket (see “open-date tickets”). Tickets bought from 01.10 to 30.06 are 100% refundable. The paid sum for tickets purchased from 01.07 to 30.09 will not be fully refunded but will be subject to a decrease as follows: from 15 to 7 days before departure: 20 % off from 6 days to 24 hours before departure: 30% off the departure day: 50 % off If the passenger does not arrive at the port agency on the scheduled departure date, he/she looses the right to get the ticket refunded or to postpone the departure date.
• VEHICLES
It is not possible to get to the own vehicles in the parking deck during the journey, unless the ship’s officer allows it. The company is not responsible for accidents or damages occurred during the embarkation or disembarkation procedures of the vehicles. All vehicles must be parked obeying the set conditions and there must not be any kind of liquid leakage from the vehicle on the floor. If the driver contravenes these rules, the company reserves the right to prevent him/her to board the ship and to cover the cost of cleaning the damaged part.
• LUGGAGE
The passenger must take care of his/her luggage locking it securely in the vehicle or taking it with himself/herself. The company is not responsible for stolen property.
• RESPONSIBILITY
The company is not responsible for any accident or injury that may occur during the journey caused by passenger’s fault or imprudence. All kind of case or dispute that may arise under the in force travel conditions, will be solved in compliance with the international agreements at the court of London, unless the company accepts the jurisdiction of a different court. |
